I know that there’s been talk about Santana getting a new love interest *cough*bullshitgingertanashit*cough*. For the sake of her being more comfortable with her sexuality. That’s.. not fair to a couple of people. 

1. Brittany S. Pierce- Can any one wonder how Brittany will feel if this happens? For Brittany to see Santana with said new girl being happy with her sexuality with someone else other than her? Can you imagine? Santana singing a love song in front of the entire of glee club about how she feels about another girl. How is Brittany going to manage knowing that she waited so long for Santana to finally be with her just for her to be with someone else. Some people mention that’d it make Brittany jealous and she’d be more persistent about getting with Santana. That’s a load of shit. Brittany wouldn’t be jealous. She’d give up. That would trample any hope she has left. 
2. Santana Lopez- If it hasn’t been made clear enough. Santana’s in love with Brittany. (Refer to everything from every frame they’ve ever shared on the fucking show) Another girl would just add to her game of pretending. I’d guess that if Santana were to get a girlfriend that wasn’t Brittany, she’d do it out of pure fear of being so dependent on another person. We all know how guarded she can be and how afraid she is. At that point she isn’t just afraid of being gay but she’s afraid of love, and that just adds to her mindfuck of a situation and it’d just add to the things she keeps bottled up. 
3. New Girl (Marisa, ginger, whoever)- People like the pairing because I’m guessing they like the idea of a fresh face coming in and being super awesome and whatever. Fine. Guys, Brittana is end game. A new love interest would be temporary, this girl, she’s gonna be left in the dark. If she was made into a character, she’d probably just be out of the closet. Trying to get a feel for things, JUST LIKE Santana. How would she feel though? She’ll probably trust Santana just to have that broken when she walks in on her Brittany scissoring Santana breaks up with her after she realizes that her heart’s with Britt. 
4. The motherfucking fans- We have been loyal little fucks ever since season 1. RIB fucked us over with the ‘bang’ thing. They fucked us over with Bartie. The fucked us over with Pucktana. They fucked us over with a lot of things that hindered the fuck out of this relationship. But we took it standing. With hope in our hearts. We did. Then we got a moment of utter happiness. They kissed. We watched it over and over. Finally, we told ourselves. We’re nothing but supportive and patient. I’ll talk for myself, this would hurt me if they didn’t end up together.

I feel the need to thank Artie, because Artie’s the reason why Brittany questioned Santana and their relationship. If Artie didn’t talk about feelings with Brittany, Brittany would’ve stayed in that bubble of no-feelings sex with Santana. 

Of course, I believe that Brittany would’ve realized that herself but it would’ve been later when Ms. Holliday wasn’t around. I also want to thank Ms. Holliday, not for stealing Landslide, but for giving the two girls a comfortable environment (via. Sexy Sharing Circle) for them to talk things out.

Without these two painfully annoying characters, we wouldn’t get the Hurt Locker that would then turn into the Heart Locker.
